Onofer adds to #15 Women’s Swimming titles on Day Three of SAC Championships

Greensboro, N.C. —- The 15th-ranked Catawba College women's swimming team remained in second at the 2025 South Atlantic Conference Swimming Championships at the Greensboro Aquatic Center, as Eniko Onofer added to the women's champions with a SAC title in the 200 Butterfly.

 

HOW IT HAPPENED

200 Yard Butterfly

- Onofer started the night with a statement victory in the 200 Yard Butterfly, posting a time of 54.31, good for an NCAA B-cut

- Sydney Peterson added a podium finish with a third-place 55.62

- Brinkley Watson also earned a spot in the final heat, placing sixth with a 56.29

 

400 Yard Individual Medley

- Sydney McKenzie earned a close runner-up finish in the 400 IM, posting a mark of 4:28.73

- Gabi Moll was also a finalist, earning seventh with a time of 4:34.72

 

200 Yard Freestyle

- Marit Reckmann earned a podium finish with a third-place time of 1:51.15 in the 200 Free

- Danielle Meinema was right behind her with a 1:51.93, good for fourth place and another NCAA B-cut

- Ella Gutenwik also appeared in the championship final, finishing sixth with a time of 1:53.39

 

400 Yard Medley Relay

- Catawba's 400 medley relay team of Onofer, McKenzie, Peterson and Reckmann earned a runner-up finish with a time of 3:44.93

 

UP NEXT

- Catawba moves to Day Four of the SAC Championships on Friday with preliminaries at 10 a.m. and finals at 5 p.m. 

- SAC titles will be earned in the 500 Free, 100 Back, 100 Breast, 200 Fly and 200 Free Relay
