Catawba Swim teams named #1 Swimcloud Most Improved teams in 2024

Colorado Springs, Colo. —- Both the Catawba College men's and women's swimming teams were named Swimcloud's most improved teams in the nation among Division II programs, the organization released in an Instagram post earlier this week.

The swim-centric data organization calculated the metric by a variety of factors. Twenty percent was based on the number of spots climbed, 75 percent from the relative size of the teams' jump and five percent based on Swimcloud Championship points.

Catawba's men jumped from 40th to 10th in Swimcloud's Division II data rankings. West Chester and Colorado Mesa were the other top three risers on the men's side. Catawba's women rose to 12th from 30th for the most improved jump on the women's side. Quincy and Simon Fraser were the other top three risers in the country.

Quincy was the only other school in the release to have both swim teams in the top ten, as QU's women were second and their men eighth.

Catawba swim returns to action in the new year at Gardner-Webb on Friday, Jan. 10.
