
PREVIEW: Swimming gears for final tune-up before postseason at Gardner-Webb
Boiling Springs, N.C. —- The Catawba College swimming teams prepare for one final dual meet before the South Atlantic Conference Championships on Friday, traveling to Division I Gardner-Webb at 10 a.m. in a meet that was pushed forward due to incoming weather.

SAC SWIMMERS OF THE WEEK
- Juan Diego Celis and Jolina Franke were named the WePlayed Sports South Atlantic Conference Swimmers of the Week
- Celis was a three-event winner (50 Free, 100 Free, 400 Free Relay) in Catawba's win over Lenoir-Rhyne back on Dec. 17, while Franke earned two individual wins (1000 Free, 200 Fly)
- Celis and Franke are the fifth and sixth different Catawba athletes to earn Swimmer of the Week honors this season; Catawba has swept the award three times
GIANT SLAYERS
- Both Catawba teams will look for their third victories over Gardner-Webb this season
- The teams earned wins over the Runnin' Bulldogs in the tri-meet at the ECU Pirate Duals to open the season as well as the Queens Fall Frenzy in November
- The women have earned three wins over GWU since the beginning of last season
