Women’s Swimming earns highest team GPA in country for fifth straight semester

Richmond, Va. —- The Catawba College women's swim team posted the highest team grade point average in the country among Division II women's swim teams for the fifth straight semester with a 3.89 GPA, the College Swimming & Diving Coaches Association of America announced Monday afternoon.

Additionally, Catawba women's swimming had the highest team GPA of any swim program, male or female, across all divisions of college swimming, the association added.

The CSCAA announced the selection of 781 teams from 459 institutions for the Scholar All-America Team for the Fall 2024 semester. These teams, comprising 19,209 student-athletes, were recognized for their outstanding academic achievements.

To earn this prestigious recognition, teams were required to achieve a grade point average (GPA) above 3.0 during the Fall 2024 semester. Of the selected teams, an impressive 654 recorded a GPA of 3.30 or higher, qualifying them for the Intercollegiate Coach Association Coalition All-Sport Academic Standings.

The Catawba College men also earned Scholar All-America honors with a 3.59 team grade points average, just 0.05 away from earning the top GPA on the men's side.

Catawba men's and women's swimming head to the Greensboro Aquatic Center this week, competing in the South Atlantic Conference Championships Tuesday through Saturday.
