
PREVIEW: Catawba Swimming opens up 2024-25 season at ECU Pirate Duals
Greenville, N.C. —- The Catawba College men's and women's swim teams open up their 2024-25 season on the road on Saturday, Oct. 5, traveling east to East Carolina University for the Pirate Duals. Both teams face Barton and Gardner-Webb in a dual meet, while the women also face host East Carolina.

GEARING UP
- After a record-setting season which saw both teams set or match their highest finish at the South Atlantic Conference championship meet, the Catawba men's and women's swim teams are back in action this week
- Matthew Gearing is the reigning SAC Men's Swimming Coach of the Year, becoming the first Catawba swim coach to earn the honor
TO THE MAKS
- SAC Men's Swimmer of the Year Maks Minichowski is back in the pool after a stellar freshman season
- The native of Poland was a two-time All-American and a three-time SAC champion in his first season in Salisbury
WE'RE BAAAACK
- Catawba swimming returns each of its three SAC champions from last season and three of its four NCAA individual qualifiers from a season ago
- Minichowski claimed the 50 Free, 100 Breast and 100 Free; Balazs Meszaros earned the SAC title in the 200 Breast and Fiona Byrne claimed the individual SAC crowns in the 1000 Free and 1650 Free
- NCAA qualifier Gabi Moll also returns for the Catawba Indians
