
Minichowski claims third SAC title; Herashchenko earns top podium spot in Day Four of SAC Championships
Greensboro, N.C. —- The 11th-ranked Catawba College men's swimming team added two more conference titles, including sophomore Maks Minichowski earning his third league crown in as many days to highlight Day Four action at the South Atlantic Conference Championships at the Greensboro Aquatic Center.
HOW IT HAPPENED
500 Yard Freestyle
- Nazar Herashchenko earned the first SAC title of his young career, finishing first by a hair to win the 500 Yard Freestyle with a time of 4:23.37
- Jurek Larys and Elias Hysing also earned a spot in the championship final, placing fourth and eighth, respectively
100 Yard Breaststroke
- Minichowski earned his third SAC title in as many days in the 100 Breast, adding to his titles in the 50 Free and 200 Free with a time of 53.47 in the 100 Breast
- Rowan Viles earned a top-four finish with Ryan Case and Balazs Meszaros making the championship final half-Catawba with sixth and eighth-place finishes
200 Yard Butterfly
- Catawba claimed each of the spots two through five, as Cameron Watson, Lassi Niemi, Alejandro Alvarez and Joao Oliveira finished within a little over three seconds of each other to all earn top-five finishes in the 200 Butterfly
THE STANDINGS
- Catawba stands comfortably in second heading into the final day, over 110 points ahead of third-place Carson-Newman
