Minichowski picks up another title in 200 Free on Day Three of SAC Championships

Greensboro, N.C. —- The 11th-ranked Catawba College men's swimming team earned another individual title on Day Three of the 2025 South Atlantic Conference Swimming Championships on Wednesday night at the Greensboro Aquatic Center, as Maks Minichowski earned his second individual crown in as many days with a victory in the 200 Freestyle.

 

HOW IT HAPPENED

200 Yard Butterfly

- Lassi Niemi, Ryan Case and Balazs Meszaros earned seventh, eighth and ninth-place finishes, respectively, in the 100 Butterfly; Niemi's time of 48.50 earned a DII B-cut

 

400 Yard Individual Medley

- Joao Oliveira earned a runner-up finish in the 400 IM, earning a B-cut qualifying time of 3:57.95

- Jurek Larys and Alejando Alvarez finished fifth and sixth, respectively, with times of 4:04.16 and 4:05.08

 

200 Yard Freestyle

- Minichowski came out of lane three to earn the SAC title in the 200 Freestyle, posting a time of 1:36.04

- Nazar Herashchenko was fifth with a B-cut time of 1:38.54

 

400 Yard Medley Relay

- Catawba's medley relay team of Alvarez, Rowan Viles, Meszaros and Case placed third, finishing the 400 yards in 3:21.37

 

UP NEXT

- Catawba moves to Day Four of the SAC Championships on Friday with preliminaries at 10 a.m. and finals at 5 p.m. 

- SAC titles will be earned in the 500 Free, 100 Back, 100 Breast, 200 Fly and 200 Free Relay
