
Minichowski places fifth in 50 Free, Herashcenko earns AA status in Day Two of NCAA Championships for Men’s Swimming
Indianapolis, Ind. —- The Catawba College men's swimming team claimed two All-American performances at Day Two of the NCAA Division II Championships in Indianapolis, highlighted by Maks Minichowski's fifth-place finish in the 50 Free.
HOW IT HAPPENED
MORNING SESSION
50 Yard Freestyle Preliminaries
- Minichowski earned a spot on the A final of the 50 Freestyle with a time of 19.82 in the morning preliminaries
EVENING SESSION
1000 Yard Freestyle
- Nazar Herashchenko earned All-American status in the 1000 Free, as the freshman finished 12th with a time of 9:11.97
- Jurek Larys placed 30th with a time of 9:23.13
50 Yard Freestyle Finals
- Minichowski rose from his 8th-place seed time to finish fifth in the championship final with a mark of 19.73, just the fifth First Team All-American finish in program history
STANDINGS UPDATE
- Catawba's men have earned 30 points through the first two days, good for 13th overall in the team championship race
