Men’s Swimming stands second after opening day of SAC Championships

Greensboro, N.C. —- The 11th-ranked Catawba College men's swimming team took second place in the opening event of the South Atlantic Conference Championships on Tuesday night at the Greensboro Aquatic Center.

 

HOW IT HAPPENED

800 Meter Freestyle Relay

- Catawba's freshmen duo of Lassi Niemi and Nazar Herashchenko got Catawba's 800 Free Relay with 1:39.78 and 1:38.74 legs, respectively

- Joao Oliveira and Cameron Watson closed the 800 out for a time of 6:38.72 for the full 800, squarely in second place for the event

 

UP NEXT

- Catawba returns tomorrow for Day Two of the SAC Championships with prelims in the morning at 10 a.m. and finals later at 5 p.m. with the 1000 Free, 200 IM, 50 Free and 200 Medley scheduled
