
#29 Women’s Tennis earns second straight ranked win in Chattanooga over #26 CSU
Chattanooga, Tenn. —- The 29th-ranked Catawba College women's tennis team earned its second straight top-30 win at the Scenic City Invitational in Chattanooga, Tenn. on Monday, topping 26th-ranked Columbus State, 4-2.
HOW IT HAPPENED
DOUBLES
- Nika Dundovic and Tina Gomes earned a swift 6-1 win in #3 ranked doubles
- Sofia Antolini and Rin Igarashi clinched the doubles point for the Catawba Indians with a 6-4 win in #2s
SINGLES
- Ami Miya picked up a 6-4, 6-2 win at #3 singles play
- Vaishnavi Venkatesh earned a key 7-5, 6-3 win at the #6 position
- Antolini bounced back from a first-set loss to earn the 2-6, 6-1, 6-3 victory against CSU's top-ranked singles player to help clinch the match for 9-0 Catawba
- Anna Wise was deadlocked in a tight match trailing 5-6 in the decisive third set when the match was clinched
