
#29 Women’s Tennis earns highest ranked win in program history over #2 North Georgia
Chattanooga, Tenn. —- The 29th-ranked Catawba College women's tennis team picked up a huge upset victory in the Scenic City Invitational in Chattanooga on Sunday, upending the number two ranked team in the country in North Georgia for the highest ranked win in program history.
HOW IT HAPPENED
DOUBLES
- Sofia Antolini and Rin Igarashi earned a hard-fought 6-4 win in #2 doubles
- Liliana Drukerova and Ami Miya helped clinch the doubles point with a 7-5 win in #1s action
SINGLES
- Anna Wise earned a key 6-3, 6-1 win at the #2 position
- Vaishnavi Venkatesh helped contribute to the victory with a 6-2, 6-3 win at #6s
- Igarashi won the #5s singles match that clinched the upset victory, winning 6-2, 6-3 win over UNG's #5 opponent
