#24 Women’s Tennis continues shutout streak, bests Barton 4-0

Salisbury, N.C. —- The 24th-ranked Catawba College women's tennis team continued its winning ways in Sunday action against Barton, sweeping the Bulldogs 4-0 in non-conference women's tennis at the Johnson Tennis Courts.

HOW IT HAPPENED

DOUBLES

- Nika Dundovic and Tina Gomes earned a quick 6-0 sweep in #3 doubles

- Anna Wise and Ami Miya helped clinch the doubles point with a 6-4 win in #2s

SINGLES

- Sofia Antolini wrapped up a 4-0 week in singles play with a 6-1, 6-1 win in the top-ranked position

- Wise also earned a 6-1, 6-1 win over the #2s

- Miya helped clinch the match with yet another 6-1, 6-1 win over #3s

- Rin Igarashi neared a win with a 6-3 win in the opening set and leading 5-0 in the second

- Vaishnavi Venkatesh won her opening set 6-2 and led 4-2 in the second when clinch point was reached

- Mati Moretti earned a quick 6-1 opening set victory and was tied 3-3 in set two
