
#24 Women’s Tennis earns fifth straight sweep in win over Limestone
Salisbury, N.C. —- The 24th-ranked Catawba College women's tennis team earned its fifth straight sweep to open the 2025 spring season on Saturday, moving to 3-0 in South Atlantic Conference play with a 4-0 win over Limestone at the Johnson Tennis Courts.
HOW IT HAPPENED
DOUBLES
- Nika Dundovic and Tina Gomes earned a quick 6-0 win in #3s doubles
- Sofia Antolini and Rin Igarashi clinched the doubles point with a 6-2 win at #2s
- Lilliana Drukerova and Ami Miya led 4-3 in #1s at the clinch point
SINGLES
- Gomes made it a 2-0 day with no points conceded with a 6-0, 6-0 win over her #6s opponent
- Antolini kept her undefeated start to the season going with a 6-0, 6-2 win over the Limestone #1 singles player
- Vaishnavi Venkatesh helped clinched the match with a 6-1, 6-2 win in the #5 position
- Anna Wise and Miya both led 6-1, 5-1 in #2s and #3s, respectively, at the stoppage of play
- Drukerova held a 6-3, 4-3 lead when play was stopped
