
#24 Women’s Tennis sweeps past Lees-McRae, 7-0
Salisbury, N.C. — The 24th-ranked Catawba College women's tennis team won each of its matches over Lees-McRae on Monday at the Johnson Tennis Courts, improving to 4-0 on the young season.
HOW IT HAPPENED
DOUBLES
- Ami Miya and Lilliana Drukerova earned a 6-3 win in #1 doubles
- Sofia Antolini and Rin Igarashi helped clinched the doubles points with a 6-3 win in #2s
SINGLES
- Vaishnavi Venkatesh earned a straight-set 6-2, 6-2 win in #5s action
- Miya continued her good play with a 6-3, 6-2 win at #3s
- Antolini earned a hard-fought 6-0, 4-6, 6-3 win as the #1 singles player
- Igarashi helped clinch the win with a 6-3, 7-5 win at #6s
- Drukerova picked up a 7-6, 3-6, 1-0 win in a tiebreaker
- Wise earned a dramatic 6-7, 6-1, 7-5 win against LMC's #2 opponent
