
#21 Women’s Tennis sweeps past Erskine
Salisbury, N.C. —- The 21st-ranked Catawba College women's tennis team earned a clean 7-0 sweep of Erskine College in non-conference action at the Johnson Tennis Courts on Saturday.
HOW IT HAPPENED
DOUBLES
- Catawba's top-ranked duo of Liliana Drukerova and Ami Miya earned a 6-3 win to kick off doubles play
- Rin Igarashi and Sofia Antolini earned the doubles point with a 6-4 win in #2s action
SINGLES
- Vaishnavi Venkatesh was the first to clinch a win for the Catawba Indians in the #6 slot, defeating her opponent 6-2, 6-2
- Miya picked up a win in #3s with a 6-3, 6-2 victory
- Drukerova earned a hardfought 4-6, 6-0, 6-3 win at #4s
- Mati Moretti also came back from an opening-set loss with a 6-7, 6-0, 6-2 win in #5s play
- Antolini picked earned her second straight win in #1s action, 2-6, 6-2, 7-5
- Anna Wise completed the sweep in a dramatic 5-7, 6-4, 6-4 victory in the #2s match
