
#24 Women’s Tennis rolls to 4-0 win over E&H in season opener
Salisbury, N.C. —- The 24th-ranked Catawba College women's tennis team opened its 2025 spring season at the Johnson Tennis Courts on Tuesday, rolling to a 4-0 win over Emory & Henry in South Atlantic Conference action.
HOW IT HAPPENED
DOUBLES
- Liliana Drukerova and Ami Miya made quick work in #2 doubles, sweeping their opponent 6-0
- Rin Igarashi and Sofia Antolini clinched the doubles point in #1s, defeating the Wasps' top-ranked doubles pair
- Tina Gomes and Nika Dundovic led 5-3 in #3s before the match was abandoned due to Catawba reaching the clinching point
SINGLES
- Anna Wise made quick work in #2s action, sweeping her opponent 6-0, 6-0
- Gomes was next to earn a win in #6s, defeating her E&H opponent 6-0, 6-1
- Antolini earned the clinching point from the #1 position 6-0, 6-2
- Miya led in #3s play 6-2, 4-0 at clinching point
- Drukerova was in front at #4 6-4, 4-0
- Dundovic neared a victory in the #5s position, leading 6-1, 5-1
