PREVIEW: Women's Golf resumes fall slate at St. Simons Intercollegiate

ST. SIMONS ISLAND, Ga. – The Catawba College women's golf team is back on the course this week, competing in the St. Simons Intercollegiate hosted by Lincoln Memorial at the King and Prince Golf Club.

Mary-Paige King is three weeks removed from a fifth-place finish at the Savannah Lakes Fall Invitational in which she fired a 69 in the final round, recording a total score of 219 to break the 54-hole program record. Through the season's first two events, King is posting a team-low 77.0 stroke average. Fellow sophomore Maddy Vogan has notched four eight-over par rounds to average 81.7 shots per 18 holes.

Rachel Carlson ranks third on the squad with an 82.5 stroke average followed by freshman Emily Rosenschein who made her collegiate debut in the last tournament in which she averaged 84.3 shots. Valentina Moran returns to the lineup after shooting a six-over opening round at the Savannah Lakes tourney, helping lower the freshman's mean strokes value to 85.2.

Competing as an individual, Hannah Waddell will make her first career appearance for the Catawba Indians after an illustrious career at nearby East Rowan High School.

The tournament opens Monday at 8:30 a.m. with live scoring available here.
