
PREVIEW: Women's Volleyball seeks first SAC win at Newberry
NEWBERRY, S.C. – The Catawba College women's volleyball team lines up against the Newberry Wolves on Tuesday, both squads trying to break into the win column in South Atlantic Conference play.
Last Time Out
- The blue and white fell to Anderson, 3-0, on Friday in the Catawba Indians' home opener
- The opening set was tied eight times and featured three lead changes, but the Trojans endured and got the upper hand for the rest of the match
- On a tough night offensively, Katrina Misra shined with eight kills on 22 swings to record a .273 hitting percentage
- Jordan Danielson logged seven kills with three digs and a block
- Sydney Wattles made a solo stop and collected three block assists, her best net performance in a Catawba jersey

- With 26 kills in the last three contests, Misra has upped her per-set average to 2.62 which leads the team and ranks 14th in conference standings

- Misra totaled a career-high three aces and collected 13 kills to mark her finest outing of 2024 in a four-set loss to Arkansas-Monticello
- As a rookie, Misra logged a .141 hitting percentage with 159 kills, 58 digs, and 17 blocks to account for 171.5 points

- Kelcie Love remains the overall kills leader with 62 followed by Danielson's 44 and Misra's 34
- McCutcheon has team highs of 178 assists and nine service aces while recording a squad-best .279 hitting percentage
- Hill tops the digs category with 85 as Kary Hales has the next-highest mark at 63
- With 11 blocks, Katie Clark is the Catawba Indians' most notable blocker as Lauren Patrick and Love have nine and eight, respectively
