
Women’s Soccer logs 400th program win over Emory & Henry
Salisbury, N.C. —- The Catawba College women's soccer team earned its 400th win in program history on Saturday afternoon, becoming the first program in South Atlantic Conference history to reach the milestone, in a 4-0 win over Emory & Henry over Homecoming.

- Catawba out-shot Emory & Henry 28-4
- The Catawba Indians had 11 shots on goal to two for the Wasps
- Catawba recorded 16 of 19 corner kicks in the match
- E&H was called for 11 of 19 fouls in the contest
INDIVIDUAL LEADERS
- Bree Ehmer scored two goals on a team-high five shots
- Kylie Morin netted a goal and notched an assist
- Callie Hammond also found the back of the net
- Avery Rush and Lillie Rusher also dished out assists on the afternoon
- Ashley Hughes made one save in goal for a shutout in goal
HOW IT HAPPENED
FIRST HALF
- Emory & Henry threatened in the eighth minute with a shot that forced a team save and a shot that hit the post, but was kept off of the scoresheet
- Ehmer countered with a score in the next minute off of Morin's assist
- Catawba didn't test the E&H keeper again until Alexah Fite's shot was saved and Ehmer's follow hit the post
- Hammond's try in the final minute was saved by the Wasps' keeper as Catawba took a 1-0 lead into the halftime locker room
SECOND HALF
- Morin lofted a shot over the Emory & Henry keeper in the 50th minute off of Rush's assist in the 50th minute
- After a barrage of shots included tries from Rush, Morgan Delair and Ehmer that forced an E&H save, Ehmer headed home a corner kick from Rusher to take a 3-0 lead in the 69th minute
- Hammond followed home her own save less than a minute later to make it a 4-0 lead
- E&H's Karlijn Keuters forced Hughes into her second save of the match in the 79th minute
- Summer Ward's try was saved in the 87th minute for the final offensive threat from either side
GAME NOTES
- Catawba's 400th win in program history; no other SAC program has reached the 400-win milestone
- Ehmer's two goals ties her into a tie for the SAC lead with nine goals; she has a solo lead in the conference in points with 21
- Morin's score was her seventh of the season, good for third in the league
- Rusher's assist was her fifth, good for tied for third in the league
- Hughes' shutout brings her goals-against average to a tied-for-best 0.75 in the SAC
- Brown improves to 109-50-17 in his 10-year career
