King, Carlson front Women’s Golf in eighth-place finish at Mystic Rock

FARMINGTON, Pa. – The Catawba College women's golf team tied for eighth place in The Intercollegiate at Nemacolin hosted by Findlay on Monday and Tuesday.

Mary-Paige King improved from the first round onward, carding 84-83-77 (244, +28) to land in 31st. Rachel Carlson followed immediately behind in 32nd place using a 54-hole score of 246 (+30) including a 75, her best round as a Catawba Indian.

Maddy Vogan posted a third-round 80 to climb into T-40th with 255 total strokes (+39). Tying for 44th, Emily Rosenschein finished the tournament at 261 (+45) while Valentina Moran's score of 274 (+57) rounded out the Catawba lineup in 47th place.

Catawba logged a total score of 1002 (+138), rising to take a share of eighth place after notching a 327 in the third round.

Event host and fourth-ranked Findlay topped the team leaderboard by 24 shots, completing the tournament with an 872 (+8). Grand Valley State (896, +32) and North Georgia (913, +49), also top-10 squads per Clippd rankings, took the second and third place positions. Findlay's Mary Kelly Mulcahy opened the week with a seven-under par round, cruising to a final score of 208 (-8) to claim the individual title.

The blue and white have completed their fall schedule, looking ahead to the spring slate that features the Patsy Rendleman Invitational on home course.
