#29 Men’s Tennis earns highest ranked win in program history with epic win over #16 Columbus State

Chattanooga, Tenn. —- The 29th-ranked Catawba College men's tennis team earned its highest ranked win in program history at the Scenic City Invitational on Monday, besting 16th-ranked Columbus State in a thrilling 4-3 victory over Spring Break.

 

HOW IT HAPPENED

DOUBLES

- Thomas Kostka and Alessandro Valletta were deadlocked 6-6 when CSU took the other two doubles matches to clinch the point

 

SINGLES

- Kotska earned a quick 6-2, 6-2 win in #3s play

- Agustin Mastri earned a 7-5, 6-4 win against CSU's top-ranked singles player

- Luca Bergonzi helped move the match to Catawba's favor with a come-from-behind 3-6, 6-0, 6-4 victory at #5s

- Mateo Berne earned a pivotal 4-6, 6-3, 6-3 victory at the #2s singles position to help put the Catawba Indians over the top
