
#21 Men’s Tennis rolls to 5-0 start in win over Barton
Salisbury, N.C. —- The 21st-ranked Catawba College men's tennis team improved to 5-0 in the spring season on Sunday, topping Barton 4-1 in non-conference men's tennis action at the Johnson Tennis Courts.
HOW IT HAPPENED
DOUBLES
- Mateo Berne and Marcos Castares topped their #1 doubles counterpart 6-2, but Barton took the other two matches to steal the doubles point
SINGLES
- Agustin Mastri earned a quick 6-2, 6-1 win in #2 singles play
- Mateo Berne cruised the first set to a 6-0, 6-4 victory in #1s
- Thomas Kostka followed suit with a 6-3, 6-1 in #3s play
- Luca Bergonzi helped clinch the match with a 6-3, 6-4 win at #4s

- Catawba returns to South Atlantic Conference play next week, traveling to Carson-Newman on Wednesday
