Caudill earns WePlayed SAC Women’s Cross Country Runner of the Week honors
Rock Hill, S.C. —- Catawba College sophomore Hannah Caudill was named the WePlayed Sports South Atlantic Conference Women's Cross Country Runner of the Week, the league office announced Tuesday morning. Caudill claims the honor for the first time in her collegiate career.
The Asheville, N.C. native is coming off a stellar week in which she claimed her first collegiate individual title at the Catawba Fleet Feet Invite on Saturday morning at Salisbury Community Park. Caudill paced all runners with a mark of 18:32.46, a 15-second improvement from her fifth-place finish in the event as a freshman last year.
The 20th-ranked women's cross country team cruised to the team title, placing each of the top six finishers in the home meet, which included runners from Emory & Henry, Greensboro College, North Greenville and Pfeiffer.
Catawba's cross country squads take a week off from meet action before turning their attention to the Converse Invitational on Saturday, Sept. 21 in Spartanburg, S.C. Later this year, Converse will host the NCAA Southeast Regional meet.
