
Women’s Track and Field sets two school records in Day Two of Charlotte 49er Classic
Charlotte, N.C. —- The Catawba College women's track and field team wrapped up opening weekend of outdoor season on Saturday at the Charlotte 49er Classic, setting two new school records on Saturday.
HOW IT HAPPENED
TRACK
4x100 Meter Relay
- The women's 4x100 team placed second overall to open up the action, besting Division I relay teams from Morgan State, USC Upstate and East Tennessee State
200 Meter Dash
- Efemena Egberi was the top Catawba finisher in the 200, finishing seventh with a mark of 24.73
- Skylar Southern also turned in a top-10 effort with a 10th-place 24.89
- Mallory Witherspoon also posted a top-25 finish with a time of 25.64
3K Run
- Hannah Caudill set a new school record in the 3K, taking home the individual crown with a new program-best mark of 10:05.29
4x800 Meter Relay
- Catawba's 4x800 team of Natalie Almond, Emer Mcglynn, Sydney Cockerham and Eden Barnwell also took home a first-place finish, topping Division I teams from Duquesne, East Tennessee State, Davidson and Presbyterian with a school-record time of 9:23.23
