
Barnwell earns Freshman of Meet; Women’s Track and Field finishes fourth at SAC Indoor Championships
Winston-Salem, N.C. —- The Catawba College women's indoor track and field team completed action at the South Atlantic Conference Indoor Track and Field Championships at the JDL Fast Track in Winston-Salem on Sunday, finishing fourth overall.
Eden Barnwell picked up a major award, earning SAC Female Freshman of the Meet honors.
HOW IT HAPPENED
TRACK
One Mile Run
- Natalie Almond finished third in the one mile run to earn all-conference with a time of 5:00.39
- Emer Mcglynn also earned a top-10 finish with a ninth-place mark of 5:22.30
800 Meter Run
- Barnwell won the SAC title in the 800-meter run with a school-record mark of 2:13.20
- Joanna Owczarz earned fourth with a time of 2:18.71
3,000 Meter Run
- Hannah Caudill placed sixth in the 3K; Mcglynn was not far behind with an eighth-place finish
4x400 Meter Relay
- Catawba's 4x4 team of Letsi Burgos, Efe Egberi, Charity Davies and Barnewll placed sixth.
FIELD
Shot Put
- Lilly Wolf earned a fifth-place finish in the women's shot put, throwing 12.03 meters

- Catawba Track and Field gears up for the NCAA Division II Indoor Championships in Indianapolis, which take place March 13-15
