#47 Women's Tennis punches ticket to SAC title match with dominant performance over Newberry

Sumter, S.C. ---- The 47th-ranked and 6th-seed Catawba College Women's Tennis team kept their postseason run going on Friday afternoon, defeating 7th-seed Newberry in the SAC Women's Tennis tournament semifinal to claim a spot in the title match on Saturday at the Palmetto Tennis Centern.

HOW IT HAPPENED

- Anna Wise and Ami Miya earned a 6-2 win in #2 doubles

- Sofia Hernandez Mera and Rin Igarashi helped clinch the doubles point with a 6-2 win of their own in #3 doubles

- Wise made it a 2-0 day with a 6-2, 6-3 win in #1 single

- Miya also earned her second win of the day with a quick 6-2, 6-2 win over Sofia Cardenas in #2 singles action

- Igarashi completed the sweep with a 6-2, 6-2 win in #6s

- Isidora Zivkovic, Vaishnavi Venkatesh and Sofia Hernandez Mera were also all leading the match or their set when the clinch point was reached
