Wingate, N.C. —- The Catawba tennis teams dropped a pair of South Atlantic Conference matches at Wingate on Thursday, as the 26th-ranked Bulldogs defeated the 37th-ranked Catawba Indians 5-2 and the 31st-ranked Wingate men took down the Catawba men 7-0. The Catawba women drop to 8-2 overall and 4-1 in the SAC, while the Catawba men fall to 4-7 overall and 2-3 in league action.

The Catawba women took one of three doubles matches to narrowly lose the point. Tina Gomes and Nika Dundovic picked up the Catawba Indians' lone win 6-3 in #3 doubles. 

Wingate took five of six singles matches, as Lena Friedrich picked up a win in #3 singles, 6-3, 6-3.

The men were not able to pick up a win on Thursday, as Paul Dekester put up the best match, falling 5-7, 4-6 in #4 singles.

The teams continue SAC play tomorrow, hosting Lincoln Memorial.
