
Three Women’s Soccer student-athletes earn Academic All-America status
Greenwood, Ind. —- Three student-athletes from the Catawba College women's soccer team earned a spot on the Academic All-America teams presented by College Sports Communicators (CSC), the organization announced Wednesday afternoon.
Lillie Rusher and Kylie Morin were First Team Academic All-America selections, while Kelly Havens was named a Second Team Academic All-American.
Rusher, a senior defender from Salisbury, earned a 4.0 grade-point average in Literature in addition to Second Team All-South Atlantic Conference on the playing field.
Morin, a senior midfielder from Concord, N.C., also earned a 4.0 GPA with a Business Administration major while earning a Second Team All-SAC and D2CCA Second Team All-Region pick.
Havens, a graduate student defender from Cincinnati, Ohio, with a 4.0 GPA of her own in Sports Management and Accounting. Havens was First Team All-SAC with All-Region honors from both D2CCA and United Soccer Coaches.
This year marks the fifth consecutive year Catawba Women's Soccer has rostered an Academic All-America and the first year with three earning the prestigious honor. Catawba was the program with the most Academic All-America honors in the country with no other team in Division II earning three selections.
