Women’s Soccer posts three to USC All-Southeast Region
Kansas City, Mo. —- Three student-athletes from Catawba College women's soccer earned spots on the United Soccer Coaches' All-Southeast Region teams, the organization announced Tuesday.
Alexah Fite was a First Team All-Region selection, while Kelly Havens and Bree Ehmer earned All-Region Second Team recognition.
Fite is now a unanimous First Team All-Region defender, after having earned the same recognition from D2CCA. Fite helped lead the top defense in the South Atlantic Conference, while scoring a pair of goals and recording two assists on the other end of the field. The Dallas, Texas native scored a goal in Catawba's 3-0 win over Flagler in the NCAA Tournament First Round.
Havens adds Second Team All-Region honors to a First Team selection from D2CCA. The Cincinnati, Ohio native led a Catawba back line that allowed just four goals in South Atlantic Conference play, while scoring four goals herself. The First Team All-Conference selection extends Catawba Women's Soccer streak of rostering an All-Region defender to five seasons.
Ehmer earned Second Team All-Region recognition, adding to her Second Team nod from D2CCA. The Melbourne, Fla. native recorded a team-high 12 goals this season in addition to three assists for a team-best 27 points. Ehmer notched four game-winners for the Catawba Indians this season, including in the NCAA Tournament First Round win over Flagler.
Catawba's three USC All-Region selections matched Lenoir-Rhyne for the most in the South Atlantic Conference and ranked third in the region behind region finalists Columbus State and North Georgia.
