Four named D2CCA Women’s Soccer Southeast All-Region

Anderson, S.C. —- The 17th-ranked Catawba College women's soccer team placed four of its student-athletes to the Division II Collegiate Commissioners' Association All-Southeast Region teams, the organization announced Tuesday morning.

Kelly Havens was named a First Team All-Region selection at defense, the first All-Region honor of her career. The Cincinnati, Ohio native led a Catawba back line that allowed just four goals in South Atlantic Conference play, while scoring four goals herself. The First Team All-Conference selection extends Catawba Women's Soccer streak of rostering an All-Region defender to five seasons.

Alexah Fite was also a First Team All-Region selection at defense, her first time earning a nod to the First Team after earning Second Team All-Region honors last season. Fite helped lead the top defense in the South Atlantic Conference, while scoring a pair of goals and two assists on the other end of the field. The Dallas, Texas native scored a goal in Catawba's 3-0 win over Flagler in the NCAA Tournament First Round on Friday.

Bree Ehmer earned Second Team All-Region recognition, adding to her Second Team nod a season ago as a freshman. The Melbourne, Fla. native recorded a team-high 12 goals this season in addition to three assists for a team-best 27 points. Ehmer notched four game-winners for the Catawba Indians this season, including in the NCAA Tournament First Round win over Flagler on Friday.

Kylie Morin was the final All-Region selection for Catawba, earning Second Team All-Region for the first All-Region consideration of her career. Morin moved up the formation this year for the Catawba Indians and turned in a breakout campaign, netting 10 goals with three assists. Morin scored four times in her first six games of the season, while later adding multiple-goal outings in SAC wins over Coker and Mars Hill.

The Catawba Indians' four All-Region selections were second most in the Southeast region behind top-seed Columbus State's six. This year marks the seventh consecutive year the Catawba Indians have rostered an All-Region selection and the fourth straight year with four or more picks to the All-Region team.

As First Team selections, Havens and Fite advance to D2CCA All-America consideration, with All-American teams named later in December.
