
11 Catawba Indians garner spots on Academic All-District Soccer Teams
SALISBURY, N.C. – The Catawba College men's and women's soccer programs were represented by 11 honorees – six women and five men – in the College Sports Communicators Academic All-District® release published by the organization on Wednesday.
Student-athletes must satisfy both academic and athletic criteria to qualify for award reception. Academically, the nominee must be at least a sophomore, be enrolled at the institution as an undergraduate or graduate student, and maintain at least a 3.50 cumulative GPA. On the field, soccer players must compete in 90 percent or start at least 66 percent of the team's matches.
Women's Soccer
Bree Ehmer (F, So.) – 4.00 GPA, majoring in sports medicine; leading scorer with 11 goals and three assists
Alexah Fite (M, Sr.) – 3.72 GPA, majoring in entrepreneurship; one goal and two assists, primary ball-handler in transition
Kelly Havens (D, Sr.) – 4.00 GPA, majoring in sport management and accounting; four goals, veteran leader at center back
Ashley Hughes (GK, Sr.) – 4.00 GPA, majoring in human performance; 10-2-4 record with nine shutouts, an 0.76 goals-against average, and a .692 save percentage
Kylie Morin (M, Gr.) – 4.00 GPA, pursuing an MBA; 10 goals and three assists
Lillie Rusher (D, Sr.) – 4.00 GPA, majoring in literature; four game-winning goals and six assists
Men's Soccer
Salano Birch (M, Sr.) – 3.87 GPA, majoring in biochemistry; three goals and two assists
Steven Lozano (M, Sr.) – 3.66 GPA, majoring in information systems and technology (IST); mainstay in defensive midfield
Zak Stiffler (GK, Gr.) – 3.73 GPA, majoring in administration of justice; 4-4-5 record with four shutouts, a 1.47 GAA, and a .604 save percentage
Jacopo Suagher (M, Jr.) – 3.93 GPA, majoring in international business and sustainability planning and leadership; three assists, speedy playmaker in transition
Bautista Vecchi-Ramello (F, So.) – 4.00 GPA, majoring in general management; top scorer at eight goals and two assists
Ehmer, Havens, Morin, and Rusher are Academic All-America® finalists, advancing to the national ballot to be voted on by CSC members. Selections for that award will be announced on Dec. 11, 2024.

The 2024-25 Academic All-District® Men's and Women's Soccer Teams, selected by College Sports Communicators, recognize the nation's top student-athletes for their combined performances on the field and in the classroom. The CSC Academic All-America® program separately recognizes honorees in four divisions — NCAA Division I, NCAA Division II, NCAA Division III and NAIA.
