#2 Women’s Soccer’s nation-leading offense keeps rolling in 4-0 win at Limestone

Salisbury, N.C. —- The 2nd-ranked Catawba College women's soccer team kept its nation-leading offensive attack firing on all cylinders, scoring four more goals in its road win over Limestone University in South Atlantic Conference action.

 

TEAM STATS

- Catawba out-shot Limestone 18-2

- The Catawba Indians held the advantage in shots on goal 10-1

- Catawba had five of the six corner kicks of the match

- The Saints were called for 20 fouls to Catawba's nine while also receiving both yellow cards on the evening

 

INDIVIDUAL LEADERS

- Sydney Jimmo scored the winner, tying the national lead for goals with her 16th of the season

- Bree Ehmer added her eighth goal of the year, good for second on the team and third in the SAC

- Madison Henry and Callie Hammond netted their second and first goals of the season, respectively

- Lillie Rusher, Helen Summerell, Ali Skinner and Kylie Morin dished out assists in the win

- Ashley Hughes and Allison Fredrick combined for one save in the clean sheet

 

HOW IT HAPPENED

FIRST HALF

- Jimmo struck for a score less than two minutes into the game off the assist from Rusher

- Jimmo's try for two goals in the ninth, 26th and 30th minutes were saved by the Limestone keeper

- Ehmer broke a nearly 35-minute scoreless drought for Catawba following the assist from Summerell

- Hammond netted a goal just four minutes later, as Catawba opened up a commanding 3-0 lead in the 40th minute

 

SECOND HALF

- Jimmo again had a shot on goal – her fifth of the match – in the first three minutes of the second half

- Henry scored the lone goal of the second half in the 57th minute on Morin's assist for the transfer connection

- Summerell's try for goal was saved in the 64th minute

- Fredrick saved the Saint's only shot on goal in the 82nd minute

 

UP NEXT

- Catawba returns home to Frock Field on Saturday, hosting Anderson, while honoring its seniors for Senior Day at halftime

- Game time is scheduled for 5 p.m.
