
Women’s Lacrosse rolls to win over Mars Hill in SAC play
Salisbury, N.C. —- The Catawba College women's lacrosse team scored the game's first six goals on Saturday afternoon and never looked back, rolling to a 16-2 victory over Mars Hill in South Atlantic Conference play at Shuford Stadium.

INDIVIDUAL LEADERS
- Ella McCusker scored a season-high four goals
- Charlie Skepple added three scores and an assist
- Mary Sorvillo recorded three goals, five ground balls and three caused turnovers
- Sarah Maier had two goals, an assist, nine draw controls and three ground balls
- Helena Cronemiller chipped in a goal and two assists
- Evie Kauserud and Elli Ferraro combined for eight saves in goal
HOW IT HAPPENED
FIRST QUARTER
- McCusker scored the game's first two goals in the opening four minutes
- Sorvillo added back-to-back scores herself to take a 4-0 lead
- Skepple found the back of the net as Catawba led 5-0 after the first 15 minutes
SECOND QUARTER
- McCusker pushed the lead to 6-0 at the 13:18 mark
- Cronemiller answered a MHU score to lead 7-1 after the first half
THIRD QUARTER
- Abby Shuren, Sorvillo and Caroline Cox tallied goals in the first five minutes of the second half
- Skepple, McCusker and Maier made it a seven-goal quarter with scores each, leading 14-1 after three quarters
FOURTH QUARTER
- Judy Rose found the scoresheet and Skepple added her third goal to lead 16-1 after eight minutes
- MHU scored in the final two minutes for the game's final goal
