PREVIEW: Women’s Golf takes on Dunes West in Low Tide Intercollegiate

MOUNT PLEASANT, S.C. – The Catawba College women's golf team visits the Lowcountry for the Low Tide Intercollegiate held at the Dunes West Golf and River Club on Monday and Tuesday in Mount Pleasant, S.C.

 

The Team

Last week, Catawba placed 15th in the World Golf Invitational hosted by Flagler in a stacked field with 10 top-25 programs. The blue and white notched a team score of 947 (+83), tying No. 45 Montevallo and slotting three shots behind No. 10 Saint Leo. The Catawba Indians' second-round score of 308 (+20) was the program's lowest of the season. Rachel Carlson fired a par in the opening 18 en route to a 16th-place finish at 228 (+12), the best mark of her junior campaign.

The Field

No. 7 North Georgia headlines the 14-team field that features eight top-100 squads per Clippd, including No. 100 Catawba, as well as the NAIA's 19th-ranked program in College of Central Georgia. Defending South Atlantic Conference runner-up and event host Limestone leads a group of six SAC teams, making the league account for nearly half of the field.
