Women's Golf completes play at Lady Bearcat Invitational

Greenwood, S.C. – The Catawba College Women's Golf team ended play at the Lady Bearcat Invitational on Tuesday, finishing 17th with an overall ledger of +102, 966 after three rounds of play at the Greenwood Country Club 

 

HOW IT HAPPENED 

  • Maddy Vogan would finish the day's action T-54th with a score of +22, 238 after her second +7,79 round of action. Vogan tallied five pars over the front-nine for a +4, 40 before adding six in a row over the back-nine between holes 12 and 17 

  • Mary-Paige King took a T-66th finish on Tuesday at +26, 242. King posted a +8, 80 in the third round of action, holing 12 pars; seven of which came on the back-nine 

  • Emily Wellspeak was able to rise several spots into a T-73rd finish after the third round, as her second +7, 79 of match play would give her a +28, 244 overall ledger. Wellspeak endured a rocky front-nine on Tuesday, but recovered well with a birdie and six pars over the back-nine for a +1, 37 stretch  

  • Abbie Daquila would see herself slide after the final round, finishing T-77th with an overall score of +29, 245 after enduring a tough +14, 86 over the third frame. Daquila would sink a birdie and seven pars during the round, but would run into a difficult stretch down the front-nine 

  • Chloe Crane would finish T-96th, putting together a +38, 254 final mark after a +12, 84 final round on Tuesday. Crane's best stretch came over the back-nine, as she holed six pars 

 

NOTES 

  • Catawba would finish sixth among all teams in pars, with 143 combined 

  • Vogan's 33 pars would tie her for sixth-most among all players, while King's 32 would tie her for seventh 

  • All five Catawba golfers would finish with 24 or more pars during match play
