
Women's Golf competes in Round 1 action at Lady Bearcat Invitational
Greenwood, S.C. – The Catawba College Women's Golf team was in action at the Greenwood Country Club on Monday, playing the first two rounds of the Lady Bearcat Invitational and ending the day in 16th with an overall score of +68, 644

Abbie Daquila would finish the day T-52nd with a score of +15, 159 as she was able to move up the board following the second round. Daquila began the day with a rocky front-nine in the opening round, a +8, 44, but would shoot no higher than +3 over the following three halves. Daquila would be able to settle down for a +3, 39 over the back-nine of the first round, with seven birdies, for a +11, 83 start. Her second round was better, as she sunk two birdies and 10 pars for a +4, 76 ledger thanks to a pair of +2, 38 frames

Maddy Vogan was right alongside Daquila, also T-52nd with a +15, 159 ledger. Vogan was consistent throughout, as she holed a birdie and five pars over the front-nine of the opening round and six more pars over the back-nine for a +7, 79 start to the day. In the second round, she would notch seven pars over the back-nine as a part of a +8, 80 frame

Mary-Paige King ended the opening two rounds T-68th at +18, 162 as she tallied a pair of +9, 81 frames. King played her best golf over her two front-nines, posting seven pars a +2, 38 over that stretch in the opening round and a +4, 40 with five pars in the second. King would also hole a pair of birdies in the opening round

Emily Wellspeak would finish Monday T-82nd with a score of +20, 164. Her best play came over the back-nine in the opening round, where she holed a pair of birdies along with four pars for a +1, 37 as a part of an overall +7, 79 frame. Wellspeak's second round would prove to be tougher, as she would shoot a +13, 85

Chloe Crane ended the first day of play T-95th with a score of +26, 170 after a pair of +13, 85 rounds. Crane's best golf came during her two front-nine stretches, as she tallied a pair of +4, 40s thanks to 11 pars across both opening sets
