Bio

Allie Lyerly will serve as Catawba Softball's Interim Head Coach during the 2025 season.

The Catawba Indians once again shined at the dish in 2024, ranking third in the conference with 457 hits, an average of over nine per contest. In her third season in Salisbury, Lyerly helped lead the team to an upset win at top-ranked North Georgia in February, the program's first-ever win over the number one ranked team in the country before taking both ends of a doubleheader with 18th-ranked Lenoir-Rhyne before the Bears' run to the national semifinal.

In her first season on staff, Catawba achieved its best turnaround in program history with a 21-win improvement from 2022 to 2023. Lyerly works closely with Catawba's pitchers, including Alex Baquie, who earned Third Team All-Conference honors and was named SAC Pitcher of the Week in April.

As a four-year second baseman with Catawba as a player, Lyerly (then Allie Marshall) set the season and career program records for hits, RBI, home runs and the career record marks for doubles and slugging percentage. Lyerly was named SAC Freshman of the Year in 2007 and was a two-time All-Region and All-Conference selection. She was inducted into the Catawba College Sports Hall of Fame in 2024.
