Tucci & Olinger Added to Catawba Cross Country/Track & Field Staff
SALISBURY, N.C. — Catawba College Cross Country/Track & Field Head Coach Jason Bryan is excited to formally announce the additions of Rachel Tucci and Britten Olinger to his coaching staff. They both joined the Catawba staff late this summer and have hit the ground running.
Tucci comes to Catawba after serving as a Strength & Conditioning intern at Clemson University. Before her five-month stint at Clemson, she was the Assistant Cross Country Coach at Adelphi University, her Alma Mater. As an undergraduate, Tucci competed all four years on the cross country and track & field team. She is a certified personal trainer and has worked with a wide range of athletes and sports. Tucci will help oversee Catawba's long-distance athletes.
"Rachel has such a heart for people and is very excited to learn and grow as a coach," Bryan said. "She has already helped our distance group in many ways, and we look forward to having her input this year."
Olinger comes to Catawba after spending the last eight years at Montreat College. A jumps coach specialist, Olinger was named the head coach for Montreat in 2016 and later transitioned to an assistant coach after a serious car accident in 2016. Before serving at Montreat, Britten was the Director of Programs at Eastern Mennonite University (EMU). At EMU the program grew from less than 10 athletes to over 55 under his guidance. His robust coaching career has included national qualifiers, regional athletes of the year, and being a part of eight staff of the year winners.
"We are very excited to add Coach O to the staff! He has so much experience in jumps but brings even more to the table with his mindset. His investment and care of his athletes is on another level and will help us to achieve our program goals." Bryan said of Olinger.
Catawba Indoor Track & Field kicked off the 2024 season this past Sunday at the JDl Invite.
