
Men’s Volleyball shuts out Lees-McRae to cap undefeated March
BANNER ELK, N.C. – The Catawba College men's volleyball team collected its sixth consecutive match victory with a 3-0 blanking of Lees-McRae on Friday night at Williams Gym.
TEAM STATS
- Catawba (12-8) fired 36 kills to Lees-McRae's (3-20) 31, making for a tight hitting percentage margin of .207-.182
- The blue and white were slightly more efficient on setting at a .372 clip compared to the .357 posted by the Bobcats
- The visitors posted a 3-2 advantage in aces with fewer errors (16-9), leading the match in service accuracy at .878-.758
- The Catawba Indians collected 24 digs and 8.5 blocks while the Bobcats were held to 21 digs and seven total stops
INDIVIDUAL STATS
- Trevor Phillips sent in 14 kills on a .370 success rate to lead the offense, also turning in two aces, one assist, five digs and three blocks
- Eli Zdonek registered 12 kills and an assist, going errorless in 15 receptions with two digs and two denials
- Kristian Smith totaled 25 assists and garnered a team-high seven digs
- Luke O'Neill elevated for four blocks including the team's lone solo stop while tallying two kills and three digs with a perfect 11-for-11 mark in service
- In addition to Phillips, Cam Reeder and Wyatt Eastin also tacked on three block assists as Eastin accounted for the squad's third ace
