Gomez-Wilson takes long jump crown in Day One of Men’s Track and Field SAC Championships

Winston-Salem, N.C. —- The Catawba College men's indoor track and field team competed at Day One of the South Atlantic Conference Championships at the JDL Fast Track in Winston-Salem on Saturday, highlighted by Javi Gomez-Wilson's conference championship in the long jump.

HOW IT HAPPENED

TRACK

- Oussama Ajala earned a top-10 finish in the men's 5K run with a time of 14:43.56

- The men's DMR team of Ian Pierce, Tyler Johnson, Seth Caudill and Will Lyons earned a podium spot with a third-place finish with a mark of 10:22.96

FIELD

- Seth Drake earned a sixth-place finish in the pole vault, reaching 3.95 meters

- Gomez-Wilson earned the league title in the long jump, reaching 7.17 meters
