
WIN IS IN | Winfred Porter To Compete At USATF Indoor Championships
Staten Island, New York — Winfred Porter has qualified for the 2025 USATF Indoor Championships this weekend chance to qualify for the World Athletics Indoor Championships in Nanjing, China.
The USATF Championships will be hosted at the Ocean Breeze Athletic Complex in Staten Island, N.Y. on Saturday and Sunday (Feb. 22-23) and will be broadcast both live and on demand on NBC.
The senior from Loxahatchee, FL, will be competing in the 60-meter dash. Porter secured a qualifying time in the event February 7th at the Doc Hale VT Meet with a first-place finish, besting two runners from Duke, Virginia Tech, George Mason and Winthrop with a time of 6.72.
Porter will be one of 21 competitors from both the collegiate and professionals ranks. The top 3 finishers will represent team USA in the World Championships in China next month.
"We are very excited for Win to get this opportunity to run at the highest level in our sport," said Head Coach Jason Bryan. "He loves track and field and we talked about meets like this on his visit a few years back- now they are a reality! I don't think this will be the last US Championship in his future."
The semi-final round of the 60-meter dash is set for 1:19 p.m. eastern time on Sunday. Porter will look for a chance to lock in a lane in finals later that afternoon scheduled for 2:54 PM.
