Antolini, Kostka tabbed WePlayed Sports SAC Tennis Players of the Week

Rock Hill, S.C. —- Catawba College grad student Sofia Antolini and freshman Thomas Kostka earned WePlayed Sports South Atlantic Conference Women's and Men's Tennis Player of the Week honors, respectively, the league office announced Monday afternoon.

The pair combined to go 6-0 on the week, with both helping their respective teams earn historic outcomes for Catawba College Tennis.

Antolini, the Argentina native, went 3-0 between #1 singles and #2 doubles play at the Scenic City Invitational in Chattanooga, Tenn. over Spring Break last week, helping Catawba to wins over 26th-ranked Columbus State and UIndy.

Antolini continued her undefeated play in both singles and doubles action this season, helping Catawba Women's Tennis to a 10-0 start for the first time in program history and a #11 national ranking, the team's highest in program history. On Monday, Antolini took down the fourth-ranked singles player in the country in CSU's Nikoline Gullackson.

Kostka, a freshman from Cannes, France, also went 3-0 against Columbus State and UIndy in Chattanooga, helping the Catawba Indians earn their highest ranked win in program history over 16th-ranked Columbus State.

Like Antolini, Kotska is undefeated in singles and doubles action this season.

Catawba Men's and Women's Tennis return to action on Thursday, traveling to Mount Olive for a pair of non-conference matches.
