
#31 Men's Tennis advances to SAC title match with comeback win over #30 Carson-Newman
Sumter, S.C. ---- The 31st-ranked and second-seed Catawba College men's tennis team overcame a 3-1 deficit to take the final three singles matches and earn the 4-3 victory over 30th-ranked and third-seed Carson-Newman in the semifinals of the South Atlantic Conference Men's Tennis tournament on Friday afternoon at the Palmetto Tennis Center.
HOW IT HAPPENED
- The nationally ranked duo of Edoardo Cecere and Ryan Little earned a 7-5 win in #1 doubles
- Tyler Juergens and Paul Dekester picked up a 6-2 win in #3 doubles to help cilnch a crucial doubles point
- Alessando Valleta defeated Lars Hordijk 6-4, 6-4 in #4 singles play
- Marcos Castares clinched the point that sent the Catawba Indians to the title match with a 7-5, 6-4 win in #5 singles
- Little went 2-0 on the day with a 6-1, 6-4 win in #6 singles
