Cecere earns WePlayed Sports SAC Men’s Tennis Player of the Week

Rock Hill, S.C. —- Catawba graduate student Edoardo Cecere earned WePlayed Sports South Atlantic Conference Men's Tennis Player of the Week honors, the league office announced Monday afternoon.

Cecere continued his dominant form this week with a 6-0 win in doubles play and a 6-4, 6-1 win in #1 singles action vs Mars Hill on Friday to improve to 10-3 and 11-1, respectively, on the season.

The Turin, Italy native has led Catawba men's tennis to a tie of the program record for conference wins in a season with five conference matches remaining in the regular season.

The Catawba men's and women's teams earned a national ranking in the same week for the first time in school history this week, both earning a ranking of 46th in the ITA Division II national tennis rankings.

Catawba continues action this afternoon, traveling to Limestone for a matchup with the Saints at 2 p.m.
