Men’s Tennis falls in season opener at UMO

Mount Olive, N.C. —- The Catawba College men's team fell on the road at the University of Mount Olive in their season opener on Friday afternoon by a score of 6-1. The Trojans improve to 4-4 on the year, while the Catawba Indians start 2023 at 0-1.

Tyler Juergens took the lone point for Catawba in a tiebreak, 5-7, 6-4, 1-0 over Adam Ibrahim of Mount Olive. Juergens and Elkin were the closest for Catawba to take a point in the doubles, but ultimately lost 3-6. 

Catawba makes its home opener on Monday, hosting Bluefield State at 11 a.m.
