Conway claims SAC Defensive Player of the Week award

ROCK HILL, S.C. – Owen Conway of the Catawba College men's lacrosse team earned South Atlantic Conference Defensive Player of the Week honors per league release Monday.

The freshman from Bel Air, Md. racked up seven ground balls and tallied three caused turnovers as Catawba knocked off a nationally-recognized Mount Olive squad on Saturday. 

Conway leads all SAC defensemen with 10 ground balls through the first two contests and slots third in the conference with six takeaways.

The accolade is Catawba's first of the season and the first of Conway's career. The Catawba Indians' last Defensive Player of the Week honoree was named three seasons ago when Tyler Holland won the award on Mar. 28, 2022.
