Men’s Golf places 12th at highly competitive Bobcat Invitational

EATONTON, Ga. – Out of a field containing 13 top-50 programs, the Catawba College men's golf team claimed a 12th-place finish at the Bobcat Invitational played on the par 70 course at Cuscowilla on Lake Oconee.

Paul Esnault logged a 74 in the third round, leading Catawba in 18th place with a total score of 214 (+4). Ilia Antoniadis rallied from a six-over-par opening day by parring Round 3 and jumping nine spots into a seven-way tie for 22nd at 216 (+6).

Connor Carter finished the event positioned T-52nd with a 224 (+14) following his 77 on Tuesday. Pranay Kapur logged a 71, one of the best rounds of his college career, in the finale en route to taking T-68th at 231 (+21). Justin Nagy tallied a score of 241 (+31) to round out the Catawba lineup in T-74th.

The Catawba Indians' team score of 884 (+44) was good for 12th among the 15-team event, checking in ahead of No. 19 Rollins and two squads from host Georgia College.

North Georgia posted a spectacular four-under-par final round, giving the second-ranked Nighthawks the tournament crown at 841 (+1). Fellow top-10 teams West Florida and Lee nabbed the next two positions on the podium as UWF's TJ Thompson raised the individual trophy with a 206 (-4).
