Men’s Golf receiving votes in Preseason Bushnell/Golfweek Coaches Poll

NORMAN, Okla. – Ahead of the 2024-25 fall season, the Catawba College men's golf program received votes in the Preseason Bushnell/Golfweek Coaches Poll released by the Golf Coaches Association of America (GCAA) on Friday.

Catawba returns seven golfers from the 2023-24 squad that placed 10th in the South Atlantic Conference. All five players who competed at the SAC Championship – Paul Esnault, Connor Carter, Justin Nagy, Ryan Masterton, and Luke Nelson – are back in Salisbury this fall. With newcomers Ilia Antoniadis and Morehead State transfer Allan Lockwood coming into the fold, the Catawba Indians are expected to kick their game into a higher gear.

Defending national champion Colorado Christian garnered nine first-place votes to remain the frontrunner in preseason. North Georgia earned seven votes for the top spot, landing in the runner-up slot to edge out Oklahoma Christian while West Florida and Georgia Southwestern rounded out the top five. The SAC was represented well with Lincoln Memorial in sixth, Coker in 15th, and Wingate in 22nd as Carson-Newman, Anderson, Lenoir-Rhyne, and Newberry joined Catawba as vote recipients.

Catawba's fall season begins on Monday, Sep. 9 at the Malone-Glenmoor Fall Invitational in Canton, Ohio.
