Tee Overman is entering his second season as Catawba's Defensive Coordinator and Linebackers Coach in the fall of 2024.
In 2023, Overman helped improve a defense that allowed nearly 41 points per game in 2022 to a respectable 26 points per game including four games of allowing less than 24 points. Overman saw the All-Division season of safety Deno Wardlow, while also working with standout freshman defenders Jakarri Martin II and Jaylen Hinton. The Catawba Indians recorded nine interceptions, 12 forced fumbles and 12 sacks.
Overman joined the Catawba coaching staff as the defensive coordinator this past January of 2023 after spending four seasons in the same position at the University of Dayton.
In his final season at Dayton, Overman’s defense ranked eighteenth in FCS in 3rd down defense and 4th down defense. They also ranked twelfth in rushing defense.
While at Dayton, Overman coached 2x ALL-PFL safety Brandon Easterling. Easterling was also an FCS ALL-American in 2019. Following the 2021 campaign, Easterling was invited to the NY Giants Rookie Minicamp. In 2022 Safety Cole Hildebrand earned ALL-PFL Honorable Mention. Overman help lead Dayton to an 8-3 season in 2022.
Prior to his stint at Dayton, Overman had stops at Washington State University (2017-2018), serving as defensive quality control, the team ranked first in the PAC-12 in sacks. A prior stint at the University of Dayton as the Linebacker Coach and Recruiting Coordinator (2016-2017). Overman’s start in coaching came at his alma mater Wingate University. He began as a graduate assistant from 2007 to 2008. From January 2009 to 2012 he served as the linebackers coach and recruiting coordinator before being promoted to assistant defensive coordinator, a role he held from January 2012 to March 2016.
At Wingate, he was a three-year starter and part of a senior class that set a school record with 26 wins. Overman was a 1st team All-Decade (2000-2010) member as a defensive tackle.
Overman and his wife, Jackie, are parents to two daughters Brooklynn and Collins.
