Pryor named All-Conference receiver; Six earn SAC Football honors

Rock Hill, S.C. —- The Catawba College football team placed six student-athletes on the South Atlantic Conference's All-Conference and All-Division teams, the league office announced Thursday morning.

Bo Pryor, a junior from Cherryville, N.C., was the team's lone selection on the SAC overall All-Conference team at wide receiver. Pryor led the league and tied a single-season program record for catches with 73 for 885 yards and seven receiving touchdowns. Pryor also received All-Piedmont Division recognition as a return specialist.

Preston Brown, a redshirt sophomore from Charlotte, was the All-Piedmont Division quarterback, completing 202 passes for 2,556 yards and 19 touchdowns. Brown's yardage and touchdown passes rank fourth and fifth, respectively, in program history for a single season. Brown's six touchdown passes vs. Livingstone broke a single-game program record.

Marquece Williams, a sophomore from Columbia, S.C., earned All-Division accolades at running back, rushing for 398 yards on 101 carries and eight rushing touchdowns along with eight catches for 67 yards and a receiving touchdown. His nine total touchdowns ranked sixth in the league.

Cameron Ivy-Young, a senior from Hinesville, Ga., received All-Division honors at offensive line. Ivy-Young was a five-year regular for the Catawba Indians throughout his career, starting in each of Catawba's 11 games this season.

Bryson Sims, a redshirt freshman from Thomasville, N.C., was the All-Piedmont Division kicker. He nailed 10 of 14 of his field goal attempts including a long of 47 yards along with going 32-for-34 on extra points. Sims earned WePlayed Sports SAC Football Special Teams Player of the Week honors twice this season.

Deno Wardlow, a redshirt sophomore from Winston-Salem, N.C., earned the team's final SAC honor and was the team's lone defensive selection as an All-Division defensive back. Wardlow tied the league lead in interceptions with five on the season and ranked second on the team with 67 tackles. Wardlow earned WePlayed Sports SAC Football Defensive Player of the Week honors twice this season.

Catawba completed its season this past Saturday, defeating historical SAC power Carson-Newman on the road, 24-14, to finish a four-win improvement from the 2022 season while playing the toughest conference schedule in the SAC.
